Tip Of The Month
At some point you have probably used a screen saver on your PC, which comes on after the PC has not done any activity for a period of time, such as 10 minutes. Did you know that you can setup your PC to require a password to get back into the PC once the screen saver has come on? It is actually a very simple procedure that helps to increase security and prevent unauthorized access. Screen Saver Password
Here are the steps:
1. Right-Click on the desktop
2. Select Properties from the menu
3. Click on the Screen Saver tab at the top of the window
4. Choose a screen saver to use
5. Set the number of minutes that the PC should be inactive before turning on the screen saver
6. Check the box that says "On Resume, password protect"
That's it. Now, the next time you want to use your PC after the screen saver has turned on, your PC will prompt you to enter a password before you will be able to use the PC again. The password will be the same password that you use to logon to your PC after booting it up.
